I would be easy with an automatic 850 1993

A friend of mine used to drive like that and his transmission went early (It was a subaru, bought it at 75k and transmission gave up at about 120k). He took care of the car.

I drive gently and my previous automatic went up to 190k with original trans ('85 Honda Prelude, bought it at 125k). If I had a manual shift then my driving nature would have been different. I agree that "It is not what you drive but what drives you" but I would be easy on automatic.

Rough/frequent downshift for fast accleration or high rpm shifts, with an automatic, will shorten the transmission life, no doubt.
