Auto transmission lurches forward? 850 1995

Just had my 1995 854 GLT in to my trusted Indy trans shop to see if he can decipher my transmission phenomenon. Of course after having the car all day, he
told me later that he found nothing. No retrievable codes and no apparent trouble. Of course it happened to me as I drove the car home.
Anyway, has anyone experienced a 1-2 second delay in forward motion after the signal light turns green? I give the car gas and it just sits there for a few seconds and then when I give it even more gas it lurches forward with a bang!
I have already completely flushed the ATF over the Christmas holiday and that was only 5,000 miles ago. This is very annoying and seems to happen at any time. It could happen after driving freeway speeds for 20 minutes or after stop and go driving for 10. Must I wait for the trans to completely self-destruct before I can fix this?
