Subwoofer removal for spare tire access V70-XC70 2001

Hi, I have a 2001 xc with the optional subwoofer mounted over the spare tire. To get access to the spare the wubwoofer must be removed. The manual says that the rear floor panel can be removed by lifting it up 6 inches and sliding it out. However, on my car the hinges for this panel are securely bolted to the car. So is the front panel that also has to be removed. Is there some way to remove the subwoofer without unbolting the entire cargo floor? I can't imagine having to do this on the side of the road?
