Reading transmission fluid 850

I am trying to figure out how to read my transmission fluid. What I am doing is drive the for about 30 minutes. Then parking the car on level ground with the car still running. I then pull the stick out, wipe the stick clean, stick it back in and then TRY to read it. It looks like the majority of fluid ends just a little past the hot marker. The hot marker has a line, then a mesh design and then another line. Again I'm above that top mark, just about an 1/8". Is this where the fluid should be? Should it be in the mesh of the hot area of the dipstick or is the mesh a minimal level. Help

Thank You
