This sure sounds like the PNP switch is starting to fail. It will be an intermittent problem. You can delay the repair by cleaning the contacts on the PNP switch by turning your ignition to the II position and shifting the gear selector from Park to Drive 30-40 times. This will buy you some time but you'll eventually have to replace the switch. This problem is usually posted in the winter months.
