Multple Rear Main Seals HELP

If you are replacing multiple rear engine seals, then two things are possible. Either the first one was not installed properly or you are not taking care in assuring the engine is not breathing, ie: flame trap and/or air intake. Regular cleaning of the flame trap (N/A engines) is mandatory with 850s...I do mine twice a year...FWIW, there is a newer design with the seal compared to the OEM. Volvo has added a foam barrier that was not part of the original seal. When mine was replaced the mechanic showed me the difference between the old and new....
