Multiple Rear Main Seals HELP! 850 1997

I hate it when I press return by accident
Yikes! This is my second leak from the area of the rear main seal. No flame trap was installed, however one of the vent hoses to the trap housing was loose. Haynes says not to disconnect here, but does not say what the cosequences would be. Could it cause a leak? Someone was too hard or too sloppy and broke it (not me). Replacement of the hose involves taking off the intake manifold, correct? is this scary to have done? What special problems to look out for?
Who else has had multiple leaks and was the cause determined, and the same? HELP!
Also I have a faint grinding noise on gradual 90 degree turns. Most noticable at about 35 mph. CV joints? Ball Joints? Rubbing tire? HELP AGIAN!
Otherwise still lots of fun, just not after this next bill
Thanks
