96 850 Transmission?

OK - so you'd say change 'er out ASAP? I can't believe it's -that- unusual for a car to have a bizillion miles on it and never have had the ATF swapped. I mean, ehh... isn't that what ATF is for?

ATF has two HUGE advantages over engine oil (10K change MAX even in the best situation) - no burning in the tranny (yeah, it's hot and there's friction but no actual FIRE the way there is a combustion chamber) and no exhaust being dumped back into the engine (and therefore the oil).

Alright - I'll probably look into it sometime. I guarantee you I'll at least TRY a flush before I change out the tranny.
