96 850 Transmission?

My understanding of the advice against changing high-mileage ATF is that it may free-up more deposits than it removes. I.e. the new fluid has better cleaning properties and may loosen up chunks of debris that were left alone by the old oil, thus allowing them do gum up parts in the transmission. I ignored this on our 850T. The fluid was an awful color of brown at about 100K, so I gave it a fairly thorough flush. I told my dad to do it again after 500 or a thousand miles just to make sure that any new loose stuff was flushed, but I don't know if he did it. But the car is now at 130K and virtually problem free. I drove it over the weekend and it shifts just like it did the first time I ever drove it. I haven't the slightest clue how the transmission computer works, so I can't speak to that.
