Gas gauge problem 850 1995

The other day I filled up my car ($38.00 regular!) going on a road trip. It took 1.5 hour for the gas gauge to read full. My spouse said that was not unusual but it was the first time I had seen it. I filled it up again and the gauge went up immediately. There are no other (seeming) problems with the dash gauges. For now, I am going to let it ride and if I have more problems, will measure the tank by the miles driven.
