Transmission Flush or PNP? 850 1994

To all--

I need advice. In the past two weeks I have gone into "limp mode" twice and the issue corrected itself. I bought the car used at 73,000 miles and couldn't tell if the transmission fluid had ever been changed or flushed.

My situtation is: Do I get the transmission flushed and take chances later, change the PNP, or do both?

I have heard flushing the fluid could cause bigger problems. I am moving from Oklahoma to South Carolina in 3.5 weeks and need to have this potential problem fixed.

I live in podunk SW OK and the nearest Volvo dealer is OKC (150 miles) and need to have the fluid flushed here. The PNP can be ordered and received within a week and I will change the part, but I have seen postings saying to flush first and replace second. Please help me make up my mind.

Any and all advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I have an appointment scheduled for Wed the 21st to have the fluid flushed, but can easily cancel if I get better info from this post.
