emissions control S80 1999

Removing the engine control module fuse or disconecting the battery for 10 minutes will clear the check engine light and reset the adaptives for the fuel system. There are countless possible reasons for the warning light. Vacuum leaks, mass air sensor, o2 sensors, boost control valve, temp sensors, exaust leaks, low oil pressure (causes variable valve timing problems) as well as faults in other systems such as transmission or ABS.
