Please help....eating up all the oil.... 850 1997

For the second time in the last 7 months, i've checked my oil only to find the dipstick completely dry. The oil light hasn't come on and i haven't noticed any spots under the car. What's going on? Last time, the dealer said it's "normal" for some oil to be burned, but ...all of it? WTF? I'm taking the car in to the dealer get checked in the next couple weeks, but i was hoping someone on the board could offer advice.

TIA,
-mango
