HELP - dead windshield wipers! 850 1995

I think that your wiper motor is still alive. Most likely is the wiper nut got loose. This is one of the Volvo's "safe" feature to keep the wiper motor from damage by the back EMF when wiper get stuck. Personally, I hate this feature. I have to tighten the wiper arm nut everyone of a while as it comes losse by itself!!

Use a 13mm open end or box wrench to tighten the nut at the bottom of the wiper arm and it should be working again.
