T5, R/T5R, GLT 850 1995

Before 1997:
This is a car in development. Read the 94-97 history here. (will open a new window)

Beginning 1997
Base model (850, SVC70)
GLT adds low pressure turbo (better low end response, boost fades out by 50mph)
T5 - High pressure turbo
R - only available in AWD. Hence, 850R is faster; T5 FWD would be about the same

The R level features different ECU mapping compared with T5, to squeeze out additional horsepower.
