Can be a bad fuel pump relay, may replace fuel filter & use fuel injector cleaner 850 1993

You may not find any error code due to this problem (my dealer did not).

I experienced this symptom and after replacing the fuel pump relay the problem went away. The fuel pump relay is with the fuse box, cost about $20-$35. I do not think my mechanic replaced the main relay (over the fan in my '93 850).

If you have not replaced the fuel filter in the last year or so please replace it. Get good gas from now on (I use 93 octane and noticed stalling at 89 octane) from a good gas station. My fuel injector may got dirty due to bad gas station’s 87 octane. The age of the gas storage facility can effect same brand gas from different stations.

You may have to add a good fuel injector cleaner. I got mine from my local Volvo mechanic ($6 a can) and it was the only one I found had strong ammonia like smell (like brass cleaner).
