T-5R 850 1994

Hi I'm considering purchasing a what is purported to be a T-5R of end '94 vintage. It is a sedan and white. My research so far seems to indicate that white versions were never produced. This vehicle is in Australia and has done 157000 klms mostly long distances (touring). I have the Chassis/VIN number - would there be somewhere I could go to check out the vehicle to make sure that it is indeed what they say it is. A volvo mechanic I know suggested that it could have been 'rebadged'. By the way the compression tests out at 195,190,195,205 & 195. Only oil leak is from the camshaft position sensor. I am fairly keen on this one and have been looking around for some time for an 850 94-96 models. Any advice would be appreciated. Motoring association is checking it out for me tomorrow. Cheers.
