T5 clicking-ticking sound @ low speed V70-XC70 2001

Does anyone know what is making that clicking-ticking sound when you are at low speed and getting on and off the gas. Its definitely coming from the front of the car. You can't miss it when driving with window down or in a parking garage at low speed. It kind of sounds like a heat shield thats loose-the ones with a spring mounted screws to allow for heat expansion. But the dealer insist that its not the shield and that its normal and they all do it. My friends 2001 XC70 does it, but when I test drove a 2004 V70, no noise.
