This is an unusual list. C70

I totally agree that the C70 is the best looking volvo they have ever made. Hands down there is no competition. I still get plenty of compliments, on mine even with it being almost 5 years on.

First of all, I own a 98 C70 HPT. This was the first year of production, and obviously from your comments things were improved over the next several years to fix some of the errors and problems that I ran into.

But, undeniable, the more your drive a car, and the old it gets the more maintenance is required.

I agree, that everything on my list is preventable, IF I were to leave the car in the garage and not drive it! However, It is a known fact that 90% of volvo owners have problems with brakes, no matter what model; and A/C evaporators and heater cores. These are some of the biggest areas of complaints with these cars. Yes, they are solid cars, and they run forever, but you can expect to pay serious bucks over the life of the car replacing brakes, and the a/c.

In the five years that I have had my C70, I have replaced the front rotors and pads at least 5 times and the rear at least four times. I never get full use of the pads cause the rotors warp out. After the second time the front warped, VCNA recommeded replaced the the front rotors, calipers, pads with the rotors from the s70R(europe only). This unfortunately didn't solve the problems either. I had to go after market, and get cross drilled rotors on the front and rear to fix the problem. The pads are another issue....

To me this has been the biggest issue and pain that I have had to deal with. Still small in comparision, but when you consider that every 12 months I replace front rotors and every 18 months rear rotors its a costly consideration. The bottom line is that its just a design flaw or they never consider the fact that some people just like to drive, and some get stuck in lots of Los Angeles bumper to bumper traffic which does numbers on a cars brake system. (At least the seat are comfortable and the radio is great, that usually can take your mind off miles of red lights.)

Something to think about...
