Ok, vac hose under the battery is ok, but cruise control not working - any other iseas? S70 1998

I have checked the hose under the batter without removing the battery, but rather sticking my hand down there and feeling my way around. I felt the hose and it felt very solid and pliable (no cracks or signs of dryness). It was also connected to its fitting. The cruise control does not engage. I looked at the fuse and it is ok. A realy, perhaps? Anyone in the know, please help.

Thanks.
