94 non-turbo 854: oil loss, no smoke, no leak 850 1994

Hello,
My 854 has over 200,000 mostly trouble free miles on it now. It has been loosing oil for a long time now, but at a slow rate. About one quart every 1000 miles or so depending on driving conditions. I never have any smoke from the exhaust, and there are no drips on my garage floor. I replaced the cam seal a few months ago, and no change. Any ideas? I don't mind topping off the oil, but Mobil 1 ain't cheap. It has been on Mobil one since 100,000miles.
