Front Shock/Spring replacement S40-V40 2000

HELP!!!!!

I am changing the springs in my 2000 S40. The two rear springs broke (How I don't know). I decided to change all of them and replace them with H&R springs. Got the back ones in and the front ones have posed a problem. I got the struts out just fine (easy), but I can't remove the spring. I have no tools to loosen the shock absorber top nut and keep the shock rod from spinning. It is recessed in and I can't get this loose. I have seen shock absorber tools that allow one to do this, but have found none in the size I need.

Please help me. I know this tools exsists, I just can't find it.

Thanks in advance.

Jason
