Bridgestones or Dunlops and a rumble V70-XC70

Two items: first, my second set of ContiTouring Contact tires on 1998 XC needs replacing. They've been decent, but I am looking at Bridgestone Potenza RE950 and Dunlop SP Sport A2 tires. Anyone have experience with these?

Second, when accelerating through a turn (sharp turn like at an intersection) there is a low pitched rumble noise from the front. Seems to be from left on right turns and vice-versa. Doesn't do it when coasting or braking through turns. Mechanic's front-end inspection shows nothing appears wrong and he says it's too early for CV joints to fail (82K miles). Any thoughts?
