Hi paul
I had the same problem when i Bought my volvo the prevouis owner didn't do regular checks on the tranny so i got big surprise when replaced the atf fluid the gearbox totally died so in the end i had to replace the tranny that really hurt my pocket before you change the atf have the tranny go throught a diagnoses test to see if any problems are lurking in the shadows waiting for behind of your cash
