Rear Wiper Motor? V70-XC70

My rear wiper stopped mid window last weekend. I was driving along in the rain and happened to look in the rearview and it had simply stopped. The fuse is fine. Has anyone had this? I think the wiper motor is gone but am not sure. I can install replacement motor myself but do not have equipment to make sure it is the motor before proceeding. Should I take it in and get it checked or simply try the new motor at $150
