AUX INPUT FOR RADIO

Hi,

I have the infamous SC-816 radio/cd/casette head. I would like to try to tap into the wiring to add an aux input for an mp3 player. This would be in place of the CD changer input. I do not want to use the cassette or RF interface solutions that are available.

Has anyone done this?

Does anyone have a USEFUL wiring diagram?

Is there some serial communications between the changer and the head unit or just some levels to detect presense of a changer?
