thermal switch in AC compressor

Last week someone suggested that the thermal switch in the AC compressor may be causing the following problem. The air works fine for about 15 mins, then begins to blow warm. After some time it will blow cold again. System is properly charged, works great for the short time that it works. If the compressor does need changing are they different than the 740 series compressors. Any source for reasonably priced remanufactured compressors.
