Oil Change! 850

Dear All

I was wondering about changing my oil, I have read many threads on this site about the use of synthetic oil - anyone got any advice from experience. My car has 117, 000 miles and looking at the service history has had oil changes every 5000 miles but not synthetic.

Also can I do this without jacking up the car? What kind of socket do I need for the sump plug? I can't get aluminium washers here in Romania so could I use the old one?

I'll use a MAN filter as it has a non return valve. At least I think that is what the ball bearing and spring thing are inside it.

Thanks
Matt 93 850 117,000 miles
