Might you mean throw-out Bearing?

The input shaft bearing is INSIDE the trans and can only be replaced if the trans is taken apart. I have yet to see a newer FWD 850/X70 type MT have that problem. He might mean "throw-out bearing" which rides on the external part of the main-shaft and dis-engages the clutch disc. Those can go bad but also not a common problem with FWD MTs so far.

Unfortunately for you, unless a dealer tech can hear and verify your problem, they won't try to fix it. You must take a tech for a test drive, duplicate the noise in question and say "there, that's it". At that point, he can't deny that he's not hearing your noise.
Now, clutch parts (like the disc, pressure plate and maybe throw-out bearing) are really considered to be "wear items" so VIP may not cover your expense. VIP does not cover everything.
