T5 engine management light on 'cos I didnt put a multiplug on properly!! 850 1996

my good deed for the day was to change a whole load of crankcase hoses on a friends 855 T5.

So off with the inlet manifold, fuel rail, injectors etc, to change the hoses to the oil separator - but on reassembly, I accidently didnt repalce no 5 injector multiplug correctly. Started car, and it ran with a mis-fire. It only took 30 seconds to figure out (the multiplug on no 5 injector). Fixed securely, but of course the engine management light on. Disconnected battery for 10 minutes, butlight still on, car runs perfectly.

As a '96 model, I cant access codes/erase codes.

Can I out light out for leaving battery off for longer? Or after a certain number of 'cycles' (engine started/stopped) will the ECU 'realise' no fault exists and put light out?

Help!

Kev
