How about A6: Ignition system or other sockets? 850

Ronjon,

I check ALL the code sockets:

A1: 2-2-3 is an idle air control valve opening signal absent or faulty...
A2: 1-1-1 is clear
A3: 3-1-4 is a camshaft position sensor absent or faulty; 2-1-3 can't find a listing for this error; 2-1-4 is an engine RPM sensor signal absent or faulty
A6: clear
A7: 1-2-2; 1-1-3 - can't find listings for either of these, but A7 is for the instrument cluster so I don't think it pertains to my problem.

From A3 the 3-1-4 and the 2-1-4 best describe what Haynes says about the sudden absent RPM signal and how it affects the fuel pump....

Doesn't this sound crazy? Could the fuel pump have failed? Makes no sense to me.

FYI...the fuse for the fuel pump is good and when pulled out with the key "ON" the fuel pump relay clicks off and on. These are both good.
