ICM to MFI: Do not think a pump issue 850

Hey, I really appreciate your help..

Ok, let's just assume that the fuel pump is good, how do you re-energize a relay so that signal is once again sent to the pump? This is very confusing.... I disconnected the battery in the hopes that this would help, apparently not. And, I've tried to clear the codes in question, but they will not clear. Aren't you supposed to hold down the indicator button as soon as the code starts flashing to erase memory?

At this point, I should mention that about two weeks ago, I did notice that the fuel pump started to sound loudish when filling up the tank. It would usually subside, or maybe I turned up the radio to kill the sound. Maybe the jolt to the chasis finally killed it?

Called a local (but not my) mechanic and asked him about the codes in question. Because the fuel pump won't really give a code it's always suspect he said. My car has 112,000 miles on it and he said they usually give trouble about 125,000. And, that loud sounds or gurgles are usually the sign that they are starting to go.

The Haynes manual give no indication of where the RPM and/or crankshaft sensors are? Maybe disconnecting these and reconnecting will help? Are you familiar with their location(s)?

I'm at a loss.
