HELP!! Need assistence ASAP please, control arm replacement... 850 1995

Kevin,

Here was the partial post from Rich K. a while ago :

"To do the control arm, take off the tire, Two bolts on the control arm attached to the subframe, the bolt is 15mm and the nut is 18mm. After you have those two bolts out, a pry bar will work them out and they will be swaying down held in only by the ball joint. The bolt for the ball joint is 13mm and the nut is 15mm. That bolt is hard to knock out sometimes. Once the bolt is out you can use a punch to spread it a little or just use a hammer on the control arm to knock the ball joint out of the holder."

Here is the Volvo shop manual said :

"If ball join pin is tight in steering knuckle (stub axle carrier): Tap screwdriver carefully into slot in steering knuckle (stub axle carrier)."

Did you get the ball joint nut (15mm) and bolt (13mm) out ? If you did, then above method(s) shall help you to get the ball joint out of the knuckle.
