Separating Brake Hoses from Brake Lines? A real PITA. Advice please!! 850

I just wanted to install new rear calipers. The one side was a piece of cake but the other (passenger) has me beat. The fitting is funked up at the caliper end. So I need to replace the line that connects to the hose. It is conveniently located for a yogi master with very small hands. but not me. I gave it a shot of PB and tried to be patient but the brass fitting now looks like Picasso's impression of a hexagon.

What is the trick to separating the line/hose connection? In frustration, I clipped the line off and I am ready to go in with my Dremel.

Any advice would be very appreciated. Right now I want to call AAA and have them tow it to the garage.

Ugh. Maybe a cigar will help.
