Quickest way to complete tests after clearing codes? V70-XC70 1998

OK, I should have read more first. I needed to get my car inspected in Maryland as my registration expired on 07/03. This morning I finally traced down the cause of the check engine light. Fixed the vacuum leak, clear the code (P0172), and went to the inspection station only to FAIL!

So now I know more about OBDII and that Maryland started plugging in to the OBDII system and reading the codes themselves. Since some of the codes weren't ready, I flunked.

My question: "What is the quickest way to complete the tests?" So, do I start the car and let it run 5 minutes, then shut it off; and then do X of these cycles? Or let it run for 30 seconds, or two hours? If anyone knows, please let me know. I get really nervous driving illegally. (My luck is such that if I don't completely stop at a sign once in ten years, there will be a cop waiting for me that time!)
