check this site volvo's is getting worse 850

Sam,

Ford hasn't really had much impact on the quality of Volvo products since they purchased them in '99 and most everything you see on the road was produced or in development before then.

In fact, the XC90 probably has more Ford involvment than any others and it has had excellent iniitial quality ratings.

We don't expect door panels to peel, ABS modules and evaporators to fail, etc. But to be fair, Volvos have never been paragons of reliability. They are known for durability. And the 850/70 series feel like they will last forever.

If Ford handles them like Jaguar you'll see some re-badged Fords that are Volvos in name only. And you'll see some models that are the marque's true lineal decendants.

I'd guess that the free spending '90's promted Volvo to put out cars as fast as the public would buy them. Unfortunately, QC wasn't the first issue on their agenda. Whether that move will come back to bite them in the butt remains to be seen.

Bryan
