Thank you Frank for your time and assistance. The problem can be dublicated and has been observed by the Volvo master technician, in and out of the Volvo garage all the time. Perhaps checking whether both the engine and the transmission has an upgraded SW done, is wise. The Volvo dealer carried several upgrades to the car. The latest one was(just before the above problem and at the same time the gas pedal was changed)upgrading the alarm system because my car had a disconnected alarm from default (from the manufacturer)and a software download was carried out. The problem described, however, appeared ten days later (100 miles)after the gas pedal and the alarm upgrade was done. Do you think this has something to do with it?

After the car was pressed on the highway and driven in limp mode for a mile, the message 'emission system' came on. The dealer's computer indicated the mass air flow meter and was temporarily changed just for testing. The warning light was erased but the problem came back as soon as the car was required to kick down or rev at above 2,500-3,000 rev's. There are no warning lights on the car's OBC.

The techinician suggested testing the fuel pump pressure which was ok and also suggested checking the fuel injectors which I refused, to start with, because the mileage of the car does not justify fuel injector cleaning. The next step is to wait the report from Sweden and be without the car for a week.
