A/C Connection with White Smoke Problem? 850 1995

You yourself said there was no leak when the ac is off, so how could it be? My guess is that you have a pinhole leak somewhere and it is shooting out steam, but not enough for you to see. I had this happen to me on a 74 Firebird that I once owned. It developed a pinhole leak in the water pump, but was not obvious enough to notice with the car running and the hood open. The only time I noticed it was when the temp guage spiked and the engine started to ping. I then looked under the hood and found an "pinhole size 1" high" surge of steam coming out of the water pump. It almost toasted my motor. Fortunately I was able to fix it easily.
