I have not done it myself, but I read on this board a few weeks back about a fellow who had success. He found some poor soldering(minuscule cracks) in the square circuit board piece inside, but he mentioned he had a good magnifying glass and good lighting.

Take your time, go over every solder point with the magnifying glass, maybe, just maybe you'll see it.
