Some fries with that shake! V70-XC70 1998

I have a '98 V70XC AWD with 74,000 mi. and have been through hell with this car lately. The dealer has soaked me for roughly $2500.00 in the last month in repairs. I have had every nightmare problem this car is known to have. My most recent and unsolvable problem to date is: The car is beating me up when I go over 55 mph. The vibration in the car and the shake in the steering wheel is terrible. The car has new tires, rotated, aligned,& balanced, all in the last two weeks. The tire shop in town "thinks" it might be the front wheel bearings but wants $500 to replace them. That's alot of money to spend when they "think" it might be that. I know these cars are notorious for vibration problems, but this has been getting steadily worse over the last few months. I do alot of high speed driving (65-70)with this car and I need some answers soon. I just don't know where else to turn. I hope someone can help!
