fan runs all the time V70-XC70 1999

My fan on my 1999 V70 XC seems to run all the time. Almost right after the car is started it begins to run and after shutting off the motor it continues to run for several minutes. It has been hot here, but lately the weather has cooled and I have not been running the AC; yet the fan still runs all the time. Anyone have any ideas?
