Screwed up 2003 S80 S80

Well,
There seems to be a lot of information that's missing from the story and as it is told, is unbelievable. An S80 running on five cylinders would have been obvious to anyone in or around the car, inlcuding the OBDII. Warning lights would have looked like a christmas tree!!
Having said that, I read the auto section every week of our local newspaper and someone was griping that their brand new Honda that needs an engine replacement.
Even though the problem was from day one with the new Honda, Honda policy is that you get a repaired or re-built engine. They site efficiency, time, and of course money in there decision...
