CD player error code E-01 850 1996

Hi!

Yet again my CD multi-changer refused to work. Thought it was the 'usual', that is a dics jammed. I can remove changer, strip, manually eject cassette (after coaxing cd back into cassettee) re-install and everything ok for a few months.

But this time all cd's in the cassette, so manually eject anyway, put it all back, and all I get is error code E-01

(by the way, fuse ok, and a substitute changer works ok)

So what's wrong with mine, and what's E-01
