Trailer wiring V70-XC70 2001

Hi All,

Had a search through the archives, and didn't see much chattering about this subject for recent V70s.

I'm looking to equip my 2001 V70XC with a some trailer wiring, and would appreciate advice if anyone out there has any to offer! Mainly interested in towing a tent trailer with a standard RV 7way round connector, with occasional use of some 4way flat trailers.

I'm headed in to the dealer to see what they have to offer, which is a "harness" P/N 8633886 for $82.84, and a "converter" P/N 8633880 for $105.73
Looking in the spare tire area, I see an extra connector or two off the factory harness. If the factory converter plugs into this connector, I'd be more inclined to spend the extra $$ not to be mangling my wiring by pressing scotch locks on everything. Anyone have experience with these factory accessories?

How about connector housings? I usually just dangle a 4way flat, but this time I'd like to do the job with a bracket attached somewhere...

Thanks in advance!

Greg
