Any good at towing? V70-XC70

I had an 850 and towed a Starcraft Meteorite (very small trailer).

I did the same thing as you-- posted the question. And got a whole range of responses from "you'll never know it's there" to "I would never tow anything with a front wheel drive vehicle."

I eventually concluded, as you might expect, that it's a personal thing. In the same way my wife can drive for mile after mile never realizing there's a suspicious hum coming from the front end, someone can tow a trailer they really shouldn't and not know it's there.

In the end, I did one trip with the 850, and then got a pick up truck—now THAT’S really not knowing it's there.

My suggestion to you is put the hitch on, get a brake controller installed and try it. It'll set you back a few hundred, but then you'll know whether you feel comfortable. And obviously, you need to stay within the car's limits-- which by the way can be a little tricky to ascertain. For example, you need to distinguish between tongue weight, axle weight, towing capacity, gross vehicle weight etc. The car can tow, but my guess is you’ll know it’s there.
