Tranny S80 1999

I have a 99 S80 T6 and have had the same tranny woe as you. Its is the shift silenoid and can be replaced at a local transmission shop for $600. I doubt your trany needs replaced. The GM 4T65E transmission is a very strong transmission it is used GM's Supercharged Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and Buicks Supercharged Regal GS. Our Police Department uses the same tranny in the Police Package Impala 9C1 without many issues and they run 24/7. Volvo has came up with a new program for the tranny computer which solves most of the issues and when it doesnt it is the shift silenoid. The dealer is not the best place to take your vehicle if you have a tranny issue. There techs are not trained very extensive on tranny issues.
