I have a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT 5 speed. The car has 105,000 miles had been running great.Parked it over night, I went to start it, it started and ran for about 1 second or less then stopped. Repeated attempts to get it going have failed. At first it sounded funny when turning over, almost like no compression. I took off the timing belt covers and checked for the timng marks on the crankshaft and two cam shafts. After going through the belt replacement procedure, they all line up where they should. The timing belt was replaced 10,000 miles ago and it looks good, no cracks or missing teeth. I checked for spark at the plugs, I have spark (when I pull the coil wire from the distributor cap and place it about a 1/2" away from a good ground source I get an orange spark, not a very hot spark), I looked at the plugs, they looked fouled and old I replaced them. The rotor and cap where very corroded, I replaced them. I put a pressure gauge in the fuel line, I've got ~60 PSI and it holds.I have put dry gas in the tank in case I got bad gas. I have a fuel filter that I was going to install next. It sounds like it is trying to start but just won't. I can smell gas, so I know it is getting gas. There are no error codes, it comes up "one, one, one". Could I have a weak coil? Could I have clogged/sticking injectors? I notice that the dip stick has an "o-ring" on the stem. I also own an Audi and have heard that if the crankcase is not sealed it can cause start/run problems on the Audi. Does the 850 also have a sealed crankcase? I have checked connections to the O2 sensor, the MAF sensor, looked for the obvious. Any suggestions?
