Heater Control Light Replacement 850 1994

I need to know how to replace the passenger heater control light. I am afraid to just pull on the knob, which is what my instincts tell me. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this (besides taking it to the dealer)? I already have the correct bulb and desire, but lack the knowledge.
