Navigation system reset 2002

Anyone know how to reset the Nav system (on my 02 V70)? It turns on, goes to the "warning" screen and then in a very short time (seconds) flips to the seldom-seem splash screen (Volvo Navigation System). If you're quick, you can get in a couple of commands -- like shut down -- but it always goes cycles between the splash screen and the "warning" screen. I've removed/replaced the DVD a couple of times, but that had no effect. Is there some way to reboot this thing?
