Is the car's trunk supposed to Pop Open Automatically? C70

Hi: I just got a used 1999 C70 convertible. i have a question for other owners.

My understanding from reading the user's manual is that when you press the "Trunk Opening" button on the remote control, the trunk lid is supposed to Pop open automatically. Meaning, the trunk lid opens completely, not just unlocks.

I took it to the dealer for a regular service and asked that it be ckecked.

The dealer says that i am mistaken, that it is only supposed to unlock, not pop open as some other cars do. (i just rented a Buick that did that, and it is very convenient when you have your hands full).

Do anyone know if the dealer was right or not. How does your car behave?
